The project comprised of fully refurbishing a primary school & nursery. The emphasis of the project design philosophy was to use low or reduced energy technologies with the use of energy saving devices throughout the school, with the games halls and dining areas being fully naturally ventilated, with this philosophy being carried over to the classrooms to ensure that problems with overheating of the classrooms was omitted as far as practically possible.
The upgrade encompassed the following services renewal and upgrade:
Main heating systems, main plant, pipework, radiators (Radiant Panels and LST radiators throughout) and automatic controls along with mechanical ventilation systems as required.
Electrical services include Main Electrical switchgear, sub-main cables, sub-distribution boards, small power, structured cabling, lighting and emergency lighting, fire alarm and period bell systems, security and CCTV systems (internal and external), external lighting. The domestic water services systems and distribution pipework was also renewed.
All classrooms and teaching areas were equipped with interactive smart-boards.
All works were carried out during a seven week programme involving close site management and attendance at adhoc meetings.
