WGM Consulting Engineers is a building services design practice providing practical environmental and innovative design with extensive experience in all sectors of construction throughout the UK.

We are committed to creating imaginative, effective and sustainable designs, providing the highest standard of professional service for our Clients.

Our Heritage

WGM Consulting Engineers was rebranded from W G McDonald Associates and is primarily a Mechanical and Electrical Consultancy Practice, formed in 1991, offering a comprehensive Mechanical and Electrical services design facility including public health, mechanical and electrical disciplines.

In 2021, we marked the company’s 30th year of trading. Throughout this time, the practice has developed and grown substantially. With offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, we are able to touch all corners of Scotland at short notice.

With a diverse, yet complimentary, array of expertise across all types of installations, WGM Consulting Engineers have successfully guided projects to completion within the UK and overseas. Such sectors include, but are not limited to, shopping centres, education and training establishments, hospitals and healthcare, commercial premises, leisure and sports facilities, and hotels as well as industrial sectors including manufacturing/processing plant. Such project have ranged from minor work amendments to projects in excess of £25M.

Our Future

Our Managing Director, Chris O’Reilly, who has guided the Practice from 2006, is a leading-edge mind in Electrical Design and has, over the years, become highly skilled in all elements mechanically too. He is supported by Eric Mitchell, our Mechanical Director who ensures all systems and designs possess a strong focus on renewable energy systems. The team comprises Engineers with in excess of thirty years’ experience through to fresh-face graduates who are armed with innovative ideas and the drive to mould the future that they will soon occupy.
