The Maxillofacial laboratory supports the clinical needs of the Dental clinical facility, the ENT facility and the Neurological Science facilities at the Southern general Hospital, which of the current major Hospital upgrade, these facilities are some of the few the will remain.

The processes of the Maxillofacial laboratory are to provide restorative products to assist patients, including Titanium, Gold and Silver products used in complex repair and rebuilding of Maxillofacial features required as part of surgical procedures.

The project consisted of a upgrading the ventilation systems, lighting and associated power supplies, including the implementation for a new 3D printer to be trialled for restorative products.

Ventilation systems included controlled systems to provided constant pressures and variable air volumes, so that functions of equipment are interlinked through control systems, so that only the required ventilation systems run as required, with an emphasis on energy efficiency.
